|“Dear Mary Ann, I just wanted to thank you for letting us stay at the Creekhouse during the month of May just passed. Since we had stayed once before (over the holidays in 2007-2008) it felt very familiar to us. The new jacuuzzi cover is a great addition. Much easier to deal with than the old one.The new master bath is wonderful. The heated floor is great. The new door in the main floor bath is much nicer than the old pocket door.
This stay was very relaxing but at the same time gave me the opportunity to go out every day and hike around the area. I got into hiking in 2008 and Idyllwild is simply hiker’s heaven. I went out almost everyday and would usually hike anywhere from 3-8 miles with elevation gains of 700 to 2500 ft.
I was trying to get in excellent shape. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February and had robotic surgery to remove my prostate on June 7, 2012. I am happy to report the pathology of my prostate showed all the cancer was contained within the capsule and none had escaped to surrounding tissue. I get my first post surgery PSA in July and I am confident it will show I am cancer free.
The hiking in Idyllwild proved to be a good idea. Three days after the surgery I was walking nearly 5 miles a day. I did not need any pain medication. I am really feeling fine and I am sure getting in great shape in Idyllwild was a big part of the reason.
If our future vacation plans call for another month in Idyllwild, you can be sure the Creekhouse will be at the top of our list.
